Here at Checkin.com, we hope you all enjoy a warm, sunny summer wherever you are located.
Speaking of locations, we’d like to give you some insights into Checkin.com's company culture and how we work, so you can get to know us a bit better. Checkin.com was founded in Stockholm two years ago and we quickly adapted to a remote work based company culture. Studies show that remote workers are happier and more productive, to mention a few perks. This inspiring article gives interesting insights into the benefits of remote work.
A remote setup gives you the opportunity to get the crème de la crème of talented individuals on the planet, as well as give them the best work/life balance. That will build a team with a collective hands-on understanding of several diverse markets, cultures, and user behavior, which is the alpha and omega when you operate across the globe - as we and many of you do.
We are currently 32 people working for Checkin.com, seated in 14 cities, whereas 9 of those are outside of Sweden. In total, we speak more than 13 languages, with more to come!
What's cooking? We want to provide the best framework for registrations in the world - that means constant work on improving, testing, and experimenting. Every month we make changes based on test results, the past month we've had more than a dozen A/B tests running.

Product updates 💡
Apple sign-in coming up
You probably haven't missed that Apple just announced their own sign-in functionality. The reactions to Apple's announcement clearly show that this is something users have longed for - and since we like to be on top of things, we will, of course, make Apple sign-in available for everyone in the framework as soon as it's live. Read more here!
Postal code localization
Localization has been a keyword in June - we've made it even better by improving the way we fetch address data based on postal code. This is especially important in countries with a more tricky postal code structure, like India - a market many of our partners have their eyes on at the moment.
Improved geolocation
We've introduced features that give extremely precise device localization, so even more users benefit from all the localization tweaks we have based on where they are. The more familiar a sign-up flow feels to the user, the fewer drop-outs.
A new date of birth screen is born
Extensive testing has shown that the date of birth (DOB) screen had room for improvement in terms of adapting even better to the user's location. Therefore we have made several changes that all contribute to key areas in the framework: Less hesitation, less cognitive load, less friction. We probably don't have to mention that all of these new features have a positive effect on the conversion rate.
New features include more room for country-specific DOB format and support for any separator, to mention a few. Japan is just one example of a country that will benefit from this, as their DOB format doesn't use any separators at all.
In case you didn't know, we offer several additions to the framework that you can add to your Checkin.com flow. One of them is One time password (OTP) - an extra security feature that uses a combination of smart risk based code generation and flash SMS to verify users. Flash SMS is a great tool for a frictionless verification flow, since the message appears directly on the screen and the user doesn't have to open the inbox to get the code. In that way, you get extra secure verification without adding friction for the user. Win-win!
A known pain point with SMS send-outs is the delivery rate, many providers struggle with low rates and it can differ greatly from country to country. We can proudly boast a sky high delivery rate in all markets. As many of you have experienced, a country that has proven especially difficult for SMS deliveries is Canada. The data shows that we have found a way that works - our CA delivery rate is close to 100%!
Adding OTP to your flow requires minimal effort from you - no integration is needed. Contact the Checkin.com team if this sounds like something for you, and we'll help you enable it in the blink of an eye.
